Who we are

U.K. Sampling Gauges Ltd (registered name U.K. SAMPLING GAUGES LIMITED, “UKSGL”, “we”) is the controller of the personal data described here. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 01990596. Our registered office is 18 Chatsworth Road, Stamford, Lincolnshire, PE9 2UN. Our trading address is Building 1, Roman Bank, Bourne, Lincolnshire, PE10 9LQ.

For anything about your personal data, email sales@samplinggauges.com or call +44 (0)1778 392818.

Quote requests and enquiries

When you ask for a quote or send us a message, we collect your name, company and email address (company is optional on the general enquiry form), your message, the products and options you ask about, the page you sent it from, and the time it arrived. We use them to answer you, to prepare a quotation and, if you order, to supply you.

Each enquiry is stored in the website’s database and sent by email to our sales team, who reply from their own mailbox. The website itself never sends you an email.

Each form shows which details it needs to answer you. You do not have to give them, but without them we cannot reply.

Lawful basis. For a quote request: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). For other enquiries: our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).

Keeping the forms free of spam

We check every submission automatically, without any outside verification service and without asking you to solve a puzzle. The checks are a field people cannot see, the time taken to fill in the form, a small calculation your browser performs, and how many enquiries have arrived from the same email address in the last day.

Our hosting provider’s firewall also limits how many submissions can come from one IP address in an hour. The website does not store your IP address.

A submission that looks like spam is not sent to our sales team. It is kept so that our staff can review it and a genuine enquiry is not lost. These checks do not decide anything about you that has a legal or similarly significant effect.

Lawful basis. Our legitimate interest in keeping our systems secure and our inbox usable (Article 6(1)(f)).

When you visit the site

Our hosting provider records technical information about each request — your IP address, the page requested, your browser type and the time — to operate and secure the service.

Lawful basis. Our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f)).

Cookies

The public website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and stores nothing on your device. That is why there is no cookie banner.

Staff who sign in to the site’s administration area receive a cookie that is strictly necessary to keep them signed in. It is never sent to the public pages.

Who handles your data

We do not sell your data or share it for marketing. These providers process it on our behalf:

  • Vercel Inc. hosts the website.
  • Supabase Inc. provides the database where enquiries are stored.
  • Forward Email sends each enquiry by email to our sales team.

The website handles enquiries in London and stores them in a database in London. Our providers are based outside the UK and may process some data elsewhere to run their services. You can ask us for details of the safeguards that apply.

How long we keep it

The website keeps an enquiry for 24 months from the day it arrives, then deletes it. A submission marked as suspected spam is deleted after 90 days.

If an enquiry leads to an order, its details become part of our business records and are kept for as long as the law requires for those.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict our use of it or send it to you in a portable form. You can object to any use we base on our legitimate interests. Email sales@samplinggauges.com. We answer within one month.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113. If you live in the European Union, you may also complain to the data protection authority in your country. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes

If we change how we use personal data, we will update this notice and the date at the top of the page.
